“A special occasion fully mature champagne for who craves depth, the wine surprises by its power”
When we think of a Blanc de Blanc Champagne style, we learn in Soms school that those Chardonnay based wines should usually be more refined, with more of a light touch on the palate than their pinots- based counterparts. This one begs to differ.
Refine it is, but shy it isn’t. The fully mature flavours and aromas are assertive and call for your attention. Not a champagne to toast somebody while talking and being distracted by the surroundings (or the crowd), but a wine that invites you to sit down and be mindful of its presence. Grab a few bottles and enjoy the conversation.
2006 was a good vintage for champagne and it was especially significant for the producer, because after having parted with the brand, the Taittinger family bought it back and returned at the helm of this distinct “maison de champagne”.
